IT'S A GIRL Welcome Baby Maran-Alborzi
We're thrilled to announce that Josie, our truly fearless leader, delivered a healthy and happy baby girl yesterday. Weighing in at 7.5 lbs and 20'' long, this little Argan Beauty is already the new love of our lives. Josie delivered her angel all naturally in the great outdoors with midwives standing by. It doesn't surprise us to hear from Ali--our COO and her husband and labor coach--that Josie was in labor exactly as she is in life: determined, confident, and most of all, full of love. We love you, Josie!

Congratulations to Josie and her entire family on the birth of their beautiful daughter. She is gorgeous, just like her mommy. Josie, you are an inspiration and can do whatever it is you put your mind to. I don't have any children yet, but I only hope I can be as brave and courageous as you are. After one of our dear friends just losing her 21-year-old to ovarian cancer and another losing their 23-year-old a few years ago in an accident, it brings into very clear focus what a precious gift children are. My wish for the baby is a long happy, HEALTHY life. My wish for your Josie is to treasure every moment, every cry, every smile, every day when you feel you are at your wit's end or so exhausted you can hardly stand up .....treasure it all.

I came online to take a break from a tireless art project that I am doing on the word "peace" and saw the news about your beautiful family. Congratulations and many blessings on the birth of your sweet baby. Nothing exemplifies peace like the innocent face of a newborn child.

What do I wish for this darling girl? I want her to be smart and sassy. I want her to feel beautiful no matter what she looks like. I want her to have the best education she can ever get and then use it to change the world. I want her to be strong yet humble. Most of all, I want her to know she is loved for that is the most important thing...with love she can do anything.

I was thinking of you this morning....and sure enough I checked your blog (which I have recently become addicted to) and you had announced the birth of your little angel! Congratulations!!! I had my two baby girls at home as well and so I can relate to the sheer joy and bliss you are experiancing....your birth sounds perfect, exactely as it is supposed to be!! Blessings to you and your family....I know you will all cherish these very precious first few days of life together. I completely respect the family values you seem to have....co spleeping, eating healthy, living close to the land! Just on a little side note::we are both from "bohemian families", from Palo Alto...I know you went to Castileja...I went to Paly and we are born the same year!! Anyways...I always thought that was a neat coincindence and I am sure we have some friends in common. Small world, we are all connected!!! All the best to you and your family!!!
