I’ve been a huge fan of City of Hope since I found out about all they do for cancer patients. My Grandma Rita is a cancer survivor, so the life-saving research they do hits close to home for me. In fact, I have a product dedicated to COH—my Gogo Mascara. For every mascara sold, we donate one mascara and one dollar to City of Hope to support cancer patients and survivors. So when this organization that I love so much approached me to be one of their celebrity Citizens of Hope, I instantly said “YES!” Together with amazing philanthropists like Kieffer Sutherland, Archie Panjabi, and Taraji P. Henson, I’ll be spreading the word about City of Hope in an effort to help them make more life-changing breakthroughs in finding a cure for cancer.

When I started JMC, it was with the purpose of creating products that are good for you, safe for the planet and that give back in some way. ECO STYLE: NewbarK

This week's Eco Style holds a very dear place in my heart. NewbarK, a collection of lovingly handcrafted shoes and accessories made here in Los Angeles, is the brainchild of my husband Ali's sisters, the beautiful Maryam and Marjan. These two are no strangers to the fashion world (they've been styling celebrities for years) and they knew that they had a market to fill the need for beautiful and durable pieces that are the perfect balance between chic and comfort. I can't tell you how many days I've spent in my NewbarK flats especially when on the go! I love them so much, in fact, that everyone in my office got a pair for the holidays. Needless to say, we've been rockin' our Love Heart Black and White shoes together ever since (and that's what we call "Sharing the Love!")

As a supermodel and eco-beauty maven, I have lived a healthy, organic lifestyle years before it became popular. Frustrated from countless hours in the makeup chair without a good eco makeup, I decided to create my own makeup line that looks as good on you as it is for you. As a result, I created Josie Maran Cosmetics, my line of makeup created with natural, organic, nontoxic and gentle ingredients.
