JOSIE LOVES Nomad-Chic

Nomad-chic. What a great name, right? It perfectly captivates a style that I love so much—the style of the barefoot traveller, collecting beautiful and eclectic things along her journeys.  A bohemian online lifestyle magazine, Nomad-chic covers everything from art to beauty products to design, all with a decidedly boho flair.  Nomad-Chic encourages you to enter their site and, as they so wonderfully put it, “wander where your spirit takes you.” The site also has a small, curated shop that links to pretty dresses, organic elixirs, and unique baubles. Check it out for endless inspiration!

JOSIE LOVES The Local Rose

When I first read Shiva Rose’s story about having an eco-awakening after giving birth to her first daughter, I have to say I immediately felt that she and I were somehow kindred spirits. Shiva’s blog, The Local Rose, celebrates the natural, holistic, and healthy lifestyle that the actress and activist tries to embrace in her every day life. The Local Rose has it all—recommendations for herbal supplements, beauty products, and gardening tips. Her pictures are beautiful, but the wealth of information Shiva presents to her readers? That’s the real beauty of her blog. Check Shiva out!

JOSIE LOVES One Part Gypsy

As if the name One Part Gypsy wasn’t enough to have me hooked, freelance artistic director Rachel Nahmias’ blog is full of the things I love: tasty raw food recipes, boho style inspiration, and beautiful photography.  Even though Rachel and I have never met, her blog leaves me with the warm feeling that I’ve just had a good conversation with a friend—a friend with seriously great taste.

Be sure to check out the blog, as well as Rachel’s Pinterest. You’ll be inspired!

JOSIE LOVES Justina Blakeney

Not only is Ms. Justina Blakeney one of my very best friends; she's also a seriously awesome blogger. Justina blogs about all the things she loves most—decorating her jungalow, yummy recipes, boho-fab clothes, and of course, her beautiful new daughter, Ida who was born soon after Indi Joon came into the world.  But unlike a lot of beauty/fashion/lifestyle bloggers, Justina touches the souls of her readers in a way that perfectly reflects her personality—strong, beautiful, and unafraid to ask the hard questions about everything from motherhood to body image. Check out her blog and Pinterest for a truly inspiring experience.

Warning: you just might fall in love with Justina, too.

Love,

Josie

JOSIE LOVES the chalkboard mag

I am such a fan of Pressed Juicery’s new blog, The Chalkboard. So I was thrilled when they asked me to be their guest editor for the month of May. From posts on how to create an eco nursery, to healthy recipes and easy workout tips, it seems like The Chalkboard has a piece of helpful advice for every active woman. When The Chalkboard peeps came to our office to shoot my guest editor video, they even brought us a crateful of yummy juices from Pressed. A sure way to win me (and the rest of the JMC crew) over.

JOSIE LOVES Sunday Suppers

Karen and Lizzy not only bring their talents to people in person through their cooking classes, fresh and convivial approach to eating and entertaining, but they also share the moments in a gorgeous and vibrant way through Sunday Suppers, their journal documenting their experiences. In sort, they've inspired us to make 2012 a year of healthy eating with the company of our loved ones. Thank you!

JOSIE LOVES La Buena Vida

After perusing around Roost, we've found so many other wonderful journals by equally talented writers and photographers. La Buena Vida, the vibrant blog of Brooklyn photographer Nicole Franzen, is a joy to read and so vivid that you'll feel the warmth emitting from her posts. A vegtarian, she also offers up scrumptious recipes that, even around this time of year, will satisfy both the meat-eater and veggie alike.

In short, we're sure you'll be as enchanted as we are. Happy browsing!

JOSIE LOVES Roost

You're going to take one look at these photos and fall in love with Roost just as much as I (and the rest of JMC) did. Explore further, and you'll find that Coco's gorgeously photographed life journal is peppered with adventures in eating gluten/refined sugar-free and organic all in the name of love. Who would have thought (I mean, just LOOK at that harvest cake)?!

Thanks Coco for making our lives both healthier and sweet at the same time. We're big fans and we look forward to following your journey and eating along with you. Check her blog out here.
