Like it or not, it’s nearly August, which means summer is slowly winding down. We’re savoring each long day, all the delicious summer fruit, and the warm balmy Los Angeles nights. Here are a few sweet treats we’re indulging in as we celebrate our last month of summertime.

WHAT WE'RE EATING May Days

May is one of our favorite months here at JMC. It starts out with Cinco De Mayo, followed three days later by Josie’s birthday, and then at the end of the month, our Director of Ecommerce, Josh, holds his legendary May Pole party.  As it warms up here in L.A., we just can’t get enough of good friends and good food—making May the most fun month of all. Here are a few things we’re cooking up for the potlucks, barbeques, and sunny days by the pool.

WHAT WE'RE EATING St. Patrick's Day

Since St. Patrick’s Day falls on Sunday this year, we’re taking the opportunity to have a little office celebration this evening after work. Though most of us aren’t Irish, (with the notable exception of our favorite graphic designer and JMC veteran, Aidan McDermott) we will take any opportunity to kick back and share a Guinness with friends. Thanks to the chefs among us, we’ll also be snacking on a few Irish treats. Here’s to finding a four-leaf clover, or maybe even a sneaky leprechaun!

WHAT WE'RE EATING Mammoth 2013

This weekend we’ll all be traipsing off to Mammoth Mountain for a company field trip! Some of us will be skiing, a few snowboarding, while a handful of stragglers will be cooking up something warm and yummy for dinner. But cooking for a group of over twenty is no small feat! We’re bringing a few crock-pots to help us out, but still stuck on what we should make! Help us! Do you have any great recipes that are perfect for large groups? While we can't confess to being pro sports fanatics, we’re still look forward to the Superbowl for the jazzy halftime show, hilarious new ads, good times with family and friends—oh and the food! We’re feeling like spicing things up a little this year—moving beyond the usual buffalo wings and chips and dip offerings. Check out our culinary plans for Superbowl Sunday. Other than creating the best makeup in the world, throwing a good party is a top priority here at JMC. And our annual company holiday party is legendary! WHAT WE'RE EATING Midsummer Detox

We've been screaming for ice cream all summer long, and our wonderful coworker Coco, has been bringing us party size boxes of Drumstick ice cream cones, which we've been devouring like the sweets freaks we are. But now that we're making final plans for our end-of-summer company beach trip, we're trying to cut back on the calories. Here are our picks for healthy AND tasty treats that will have us "just saying no" to Coco and her frozen temptations.

WHAT WE'RE EATING Earth Day 2012

Happy Earth Day everyone! We try to be good to Mother Earth all year round, but Earth Day is a great reminder to live in a sustainable, eco-friendly way that ensures the success of our amazing planet. A great way to be good to the Earth is through one of my favorite activities: eating! In honor of Earth Day, try to go to the farmer's market and buy local organic produce. If you don't have time to go, a great alternative is a local CSA box. If you're a meat eater, try to buy organic, hormone-free meats. And, I always try to be nice to the chickens and buy organic, free-range eggs. Delicious and eco! In honor of Earth Day, here are some of the yummy things we're eating in the office this week. WHAT WE'RE EATING: Oscars 2012

Happy Oscar week everyone! This is one of those great times of year when Los Angeles is abuzz and there is glamour in the air. So in honor of this once-a-year show and perhaps your own sparkly soiree, I'm going to be dedicating all my posts to the occasion until Sunday. First up? Food. Ahhh....food.
