three years ago I was able to spend mothers day with my mother, my mother's mother, and also my great grand mother (my mother's mother's mother). Amazing! I will always remember that.
Happy mother Day's Josie :) XoXo. Nico
Last year my brother spiced our Mother's Day brunch up with announcement he was getting engaged to be married. This year we have a brand new baby on Mother's Day. Every Mother's Day is so special! <3
My favorite mother's day was when I was, I don't know, maybe 7or 8 years old? We made a potted plant for our moms in our classroom as gifts, and when I gave it to my mom, she started tearing up.
She absolutely adores plants, and things hadn't been easy for her at that time (dad was at work all the time, she has a strong European accent which made it hard for her to get a job (much less make friends with other stay-at-homes), and try to deal with two of the most difficult, stubborn kiddos on the block.
Plants are forever a reminder of my mother's resilience. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!! :D
I'd have to say my favorite Mothers Day was the one in 2007. In March (17) 2007 me, and my daughter (who was 5 at the time) and our two dogs woke up to our house on fire, I got all of us out but we lost everything, so I'd have to say that the Mothers Day of 2007 was the best, because we were all alive, and together:) It's been a long road since then (of course it was extremely traumatic for all of us) but everyday I am so very grateful to have my little girl:)
I don't really have my mother in my life. But my favorite mothers day had to be this year with my 10 month old sleeping in my arms & my 2 1/2 year old walks in & says to me Happy Mothers Day Mommy. I love you.. The best Mothers Day gift ever is hearing your children say they love you! Hope your day was awesome as well.
One year, when my brother and I were quite little, we secretly decided that we were going to go outside and make something for mom to surprise her for Mother's Day. We decided to make her a card, but not just any card. We put our minds together and decided to make a basket out of all the different colored construction paper we had, and then put flowers in it. We painstakingly worked on this all day! I remember us sitting on the grass, under the sun, determined to make this work. We never worked so hard and long on something together! We had no direction sheet or anything to help us, this was just an idea from our little heads!
Finally, when all the weaving was done, we picked fresh little flowers than grew along our house and lawn, and put them in the delicate paper weaved basket. We were a bit frustrated that it wasn't as perfect as we envisioned but decided to still present to it to Mom. She was so touched and surprised, and praised us for doing something so thoughtful. She made us feel so special. She made us feel so proud of ourselves that we decided to have our own card business in the future! (our careers turned out different, however :) ).
That has to be one of my best Mother's Day memories yet, mostly because our mom made us feel special, and the memory of working so hard, out of love for her.
My favorite Mother's Day memory is from my first year as a mother. My parents were visiting and after going to the market my father brought me an enameled butterfly pin. It really touched my heart. I still have it and keep it in my undie drawer as a special memento.
My most memorable Mother's Day was the one after my father died. He passed away of cancer, leaving us all broken hearted. My mother took it the hardest. She has stayed with him through the illness, barely sleeping, making sure he was comfortable. She was alone that Mothers Day and had gone to church to have time to reflect. When she got home she came into a house full of flowers, gifts and family. She cried with a lot of joy. We have a big family and we all pitched in. She could barely speak she was so overwhelmed. The following year I gave her a photo in a frame that she still cherishes- a photo of our first ultrasound from our son, who was named after my dad.
I love every single Mother's day I had with my Mom. She is gone now..and this was a sad Mother's day. But I am a Mother also so I tried to enjoy it with my kids. Enjoy your Mother while shes here. I wish mine was. Happy Mother's day to you Josie.
This year was my first Mother's Day as a new mother. I had my beautiful daughter last July and could not wait to celebrate this day with her home and surrounded by family. It is even more special as my mother came to visit us because we live on different continents. This year's Mother's Day, though a little bittersweet, is the happiest day in a long while. My mother flew back home now, but our Mother's Day together inspires me to be as good of a mother to my little daughter as my Mom is to me.
My favorite day with my mother is spending time with her on Mother Day, we all sister come together. We went shopping laughing, just smile and enjoy our good time. I wish i can turn back the clock and have that special moment again. Love you Mom...as always
One mother’s day i found a rock shaped as a heart out in the garden. I wrote mom in red with a crayon and she still has it to this day by her bathroom sink.
One of my favorite mother's day was the time I took my mum to my stylist. My mum had been letting her hair go, because she had been so busy helping take care of her parents and her husband. So her hair was a bit uneven, and the color dull. So, I surprised her by taking her to my stylist to give her a complete hair make over. After, the color was glowing and the cut was so flattering on her. But the best part was the reveal to my mum. When she saw how stunningly beautiful she looked, she started softly crying with joy. There were lots of hugs that went around between us and my stylist. It was a very happy day!!
