I LOVE my argan oil!!!!! It's a life saver. Truly blissful. :) And cozy socks. :)
This year I will be using Argan Oil. I just started using it recently and, so far, it is great! I'm in So Cal so not too harsh a winter. I like to warm up with a hot cup of tea and a book to read on cold days with one of my dogs nearby for added warmth and love.
To survive winter, I like to layer in silk long johns (very comfy and very lightweight). I also use a humidifier at home to combat dry heat.
To survive the long winters of Western New York, I indulge in peppermint mochas, rev up the fireplace and snuggle under the homemade afghan with my husband!
For winter, I switch to more hydrating moisturizers for my face and body and keep well hydrated. And I live in thermals!
Hot tea, lots and lots of hot tea!
During winter I always use argan oil...it's the perfect year-round hydration for my combination skin. I also love using body butters in all types of scents and I make sure to exfoliate my skin regularly. Gloves and scarves are my fave winter accessories....and I love tall boots too!
I drink a lot of green tea to help keep warm and I definitely use my argan oil to keep my dry skin and hair hydrated in the cold unpredictable weather in New England!
I am a new user of Josie's Argan oil and Argan products. I am looking forward to less and less dry skin this winter using the Argan oil. Its great on my hair too! The SPF 40 lotion will be a must - every day. I try not to take hot showers that dry out my skin. And I try to drink lots of water.
I drink lots of Aveda comforting tea, use my space heater, turn up the holiday music, and wear festive colored leggings!
I snuggle on the couch with my puppy, a warm throw & cashmere booties.
VT winters are harsh, but cozy inside..FirePlace,snuggle on the couch,.Still have a little bit left of my Argan Oil It does wonders on my hair, skin , and It's on Wish List for Xmas..My daughter is an Argan Oil Fanatic...No stretch marks left after giving birth 4 months ago "Argan Oil"!!!!.So we are a Cozy Argan Oil Family..Thanks Josie...Very Angry at myself : ( Missed you on QVC...
I eat warm, comforting foods like soups, drink herbal teas, layer on my clothing and switch it up with my skincare and makeup. I start too use richer moisturizers and slather coconut oil all over my body and use it on my kids too! We don't blast the heater, and actually hardly use it at all (just blankets and lots of layers) since my family doesn't care for that dry feeling all over:)
I'm a wimp when it comes to cold! It quite scares me. I use argan oil year round, as my skin is pretty dry and it helps so much. I also have year round allergies and blow my nose more than anyone I know, the argan oil helps with the raw redness under the nose! To keep warm I bundle up in scarves and comfy sweaters and furry boots! Can't forget my favorite pair of gloves that are chewed up from the dog but I still wear them :)
I always change my skincare routine to add in more creams and add in a few drops of argan oil as well.
As for dressing warmly, I layer fleece leggings under denim leggings, then layer tank tops under my sweaters, and always make sure I have a colorful scarf to balance out the grey weather! Sometimes I add a fun and cute cozy hat!
I live in Colorado and my skin gets so dry in the winter. I rub Argan Oil all over my body and my dry hands and then put a layer a good smelling body lotion on top of that, then I put on my flannel cozy pants. I roast lots of vegetables in my oven during the winter and that makes my entire house smell wonderful!
Hello!
For me, the most important way to survive the winter is to make sure that my facial complexion and skin stays as nourished, healthy, and radiant-looking as it is in the summer and warmer months. This becomes increasingly more difficult as I continue to lose my summer color, and as my face becomes more and more dry! I have always used oils to keep my skin moisturized, but I began to use Josie Maran’s Argan Oil and other products when I discovered that she created a natural yet glamorous line of cosmetics based on Argan Oil (FINALLY!). Here are some of my winter tricks for maintaining beautiful skin—using Josie’s wonderful products, of course!
1) Moisturize and prime your face with oil!:
I use Pure Argan Oil every morning and night as a moisturizer. I use more at night, so that it can set into my skin overnight and combat dryness while I sleep. In the morning, before I apply my makeup, I use Argan oil to prime my face. (I know, it seems too greasy to use under makeup—but try it and you will see how wonderful it really is!) Have you ever had a frustrating dry spot that your concealer only sticks to and flakes to make it look worse?! Argan Oil can fix that! Using a few drops creates a non-greasy, smooth feel and acts as a base on which to apply makeup. It even helps my makeup blend more easily! Your skin will drink it up!
2) Wear a foundation, but not just any foundation!:
I use Josie’s Argan Matchmaker Foundation Serum after I prime my face. (If you have not tried it yet, you MUST!). Before using this, I NEVER used liquid foundation—only powder—because other foundations made my face feel like it was suffocating. Especially in the winter, foundation only gets thicker and cakier on dry skin areas. This looks anything but natural and only dulls the face! On the other hand, Josie’s foundation is one-of-a-kind. It is creamy, moisturizing, and light-weight, and when I blend it into my skin, my face feels smoother than ever. It transforms my face and actually BECOMES my skin—rather than just a layer of makeup on top of it! My complexion looks beautiful, even, and radiant, though I don’t look like I am wearing face makeup. And it actually protects my face from the cold air when I step outside. If I want to add an extra hint of color, I mix a drop or two of Josie’s Argan Bronzing Oil with my foundation before I apply it. Both products work great together on my dry winter skin!
3) Wear some pigment on your eyes!:
When I lose my summer color, I need some pigment on my eyes to enliven my face. But many eye shadows are too heavy and make my eyes look tired and dull. Thank goodness I discovered Josie’s Argan Eye Shadows. I really cannot live without them now, and have found myself buying back-ups before I even finish the first! Josie’s shadows glisten on my eyes, and make me look awake and refreshed. Because they are oil-infused, they blend beautifully without ever piling on or looking too heavy. In the winter months, when my eye area appears darker, I use my favorite color—Cinnamon—to brighten my eyes. I have turned my mom and grandmother onto this color as well, and I always notice when they are wearing it without trying to—whenever I tell them they look younger, they tell me they are wearing the eye shadow I bought them! Josie’s Limited Edition Argan Eyeshadow Quad is my favorite palette of all time, of any makeup brand (it includes Cinnamon as one of the colors). The colors are spot-on for a beautiful smoky-eye. When I wear these colors, people stop me and ask what I am wearing and how I did my eyes!
4) Exfoliate your lips…and always have color on them!:
I use Josie’s Argan Oil, mixed with sugar, to exfoliate my lips and get rid of dry, cracked winter skin! I just put some oil on my fingertips and press them in sugar to pick up the grains, then I gently rub my lips with my fingers in a circular motion. This prepares my lips for when I will apply liners, lipsticks, and other products by removing the dry skin. I love wearing Josie’s Argan Oil Lipstick in the color Rumi Joon. I normally wear nudes (Josie’s Birthday Suit), but those colors are too pale in the winter. Rumi Joon is still “nude” but adds enough color to make my winter face look healthy. It mimics and enhances the natural color of my lips. Also, I can still use it when my lips are dry because it is so smooth and moisturizing. I am not sure if Josie still makes these lipsticks, though! I know that they are on sale but out of stock online. I wish that Josie would bring them back or make some other lipstick product in these colors!
I hope that everyone enjoys my winter skin tips! If you have any of the products that I spoke about, you should try using them how I do! If not, I suggest that you at least sample them so that you, too, can experience how wonderful they are for keeping your winter skin beautiful!
Love, Lauren
I moisturize with an SPF 30, use body oils, drink plenty of fluids. Eat a healthy diet, exercise and take care of myself. Don’t take hot showers, drink green tea.
To beat the winter blues, I drink lots of water and use Josie Maran Argan oil for hydrated skin, wear lots of layers, read books and anything I love to do in my spare time. I live in Vermont, so the winter can surely be a downer, but it does have its beauty and all that I do to help me beat the blues helps me see it.
During winter months I wear argan oil under my argan-infused foundation, plus I put it on my cuticles and wear gloves to bed. But the best solution to staying healthy in winter months: drink tons of water during the day and go to sleep with a humidifier running. My skin is radiant!
Great to read about this blog post, really done a great work.keep it up.
