My 9 month daughter loves to explore new places as she cruises along furniture or grabs my hands to walk with me and take me away somewhere to discover new things. It is such joy to be a part of her learning and discovery of the world!
i love to play with my son at the playground near my house. love the outdoor and love to hear my son laugh just for swing..:)
My kids and I love to dance to the radio after dinner - it's a great way for them to burn off excess energy before bed and a great way for me to burn calories!
I have two daughters, ages 4 and 6, and they love it when I give them a manicure. I rub argan oil on their hands and massage them, then I let them pick out a nail polish and I polish their nails. They love the attention and they also have fun showing off their soft hands with their beautiful new nail color afterwards. It's lots of fun for all three of us.
Josie, congratulations about the pregnancy!
I will pray my heart out that the child will have a wonderful life, as I did for Rumi before she was born.
I don't have kids, but if I did, these are three of the most important things I would tell them often:
1. They are GOOD ENOUGH just like they are, and no one is "better" or "worse" than anyone else, God loves everyone the same.
2. God loves them NO MATTER WHAT (unconditionally), and they could never make God angry.
3. There is no reason for them to be afraid, and they are safe and protected by God. Sometimes bad things happen, but there's always a good REASON for those things.
I don't mean to preach, just wanted to share some wisdom that can help a child grow into a very strong and confident adult. Children are very open to what adults tell them and take information deeply within. Better make it good information! (as I'm sure you do)
I wish you and yours all the best for 2012!
David
My boys and I like to go to the movies.
I love reading the kids fairy-tales that I grew up on.
My son and I like to get outside in the fresh air. We crack each other up over meals. He loves to make us laugh and he's only 13mo.
My son is four and one of my favorite things to do with him is after we have read books and said our prayers, before he goes to sleep, I ask him to tell me a story. It can be make believe or something that happen that day. I can tell that he loves when I give him that special time to express anything on his mind and I love to hear every bit of it. It is a small time of the day where nothing else exist but him and I. Of all the things we do together, my favorite thing is to listen and charish the mind of my little hero.
