TONE Kneeling Seat Work
A high lifted seat is a great motivator for exercising, but also strengthening the gluteal and hamstring muscles helps you stand taller and offset back pain. Added benefit: feeling better in your swimsuit! Position yourself against a wall, like I am in the pictures above, and try these easy exercises.
Press your leg back 25 times
Curl your heal to your seat 25 times
Lift your knee up at a diagonal and do small lateral presses 25 times.
Alignment cues:
- Arms straight and core stabilized as if in plank. Use your abdominals to make sure there is no movement in your low back.
- Curling your heel into your seat adds the benefit of toning the hamstring which helps lift your seat. Make sure your knee stays behind your hip as you curl.
- In lateral lifts keep your hips square and try to turn your foot out wider than your knee. This will ensure that the pelvis stays squared and that you can truly target your seat.

all time favorite is a time between bar method & pilates. Both have made incredible changes in my body and posture in very little time. 100% addicted 100% happymindbodysoul =)
I love doing plank and holding it in different positions and doing different intervals to keep my core strong and my whole body too!
Nothing beats the Tracy Anderson Method! I get to blast music and dance as my cardio, and i've never had more fun working out. I wake up at 5 AM everyday to do the workout and have honestly never felt better
Barre method classes are my favorite kick but workouts from top to toes!
Yoga! And walking the dog even when it is -45 celsius out! Can't wait for summer...
My favorite active way to stay healthy and fit is to simply walk more. Move your car further away from stores in the parking lot. Also, I love to take a walk after dinner.
running. i was born to run free. it allows me to clear my mind. it takes me places.
I recently starting training myself to run after quitting smoking a year ago
I feel amazing!
I love the Tracy Anderson method! She and Gwyneth have created such an amazing plan that focuses just as much on what you do with your body as what you put in it. The dance cardio makes me sweat, smile, leap, and embrace my inner dancer (she had been dormant since pre-school tap and ballet). The strength training pushes me and my body to realize its true strength as I forge a stronger body-mind connection. The endorphins and pride afterward have me glowing for the rest of my day!
My favorite way to make my body feel good would be hiking. I get a great workout while enjoying the great outdoors... fresh air & beautiful sites. Best stress reliever!!
Okay, so I don't always have a lot of time, so if I could cram in a workout I park in the furthest parking space where ever I'm going and take stairs whenever possible, I also do squats in the morning before hopping in the shower, and 50 jumping jacks. GOOood morning!
I do something everything - walking, running, Zumba, The Firm, Brazil Butt Lift - anything and everything. Working out gives me the energy to go through my day and allows me to have a little freedom in my diet:)
My favorite activity is taking a walk on a warm day with my family.
Pack a banana and a couple of granola bars into my Camelpak and do an all morning mountain biking marathon in the Arizona desert, solo. Makes my body and lungs feel great and resets/centers the mind.
Zumba!!!!
There is nothing like a bike ride on a sunny day! I love getting my heart rate up with the wind in my hair and the sun on my face (with Josie's Argan Oil Daily Moisturizer with SPF 40+ protecting my skin from sun damage, of course!).
I love doing planks.
Zumba. It makes me feel so free and actually makes me feel like I can dance. I absolutely love the challenge of each move, and the way each move sets me free. I have not found anything else that compares this this or the feeling it inovkes.
I love walking too. I have been trying to keep to 150 minutes or more a week. The beautiful ocean at sunset helps keep me inspired!
WALKING. Always come back to walking!
Simple, fresh air, fresh perspective, outdoors, no money required!
Vinyasa yoga makes me feel strong, gives me a good opportunity to just let go and slip into a moving meditation. Lately though I've been loving long walks while my 10 week old is snuggled in her carrier. She's close to me and we enjoy the fresh air together.
I take a class called Body Combat.
I love yoga and pilates to help stay fit. They keep everything long and lean, while building my strength and balance. Both have also helped tremendously with back pain following a car accident when traditional treatments failed to produce results. As much as I love yoga and pilates though, my favorite way to stay active is playing with my 6-year-old niece. She loves to simply run freely outside in nature and laughs every time she bounces on the trampoline. It's a challenge to keep up, but it leaves us both invigorated and happy and smiling!
My favorite, active activity is simply walking. I can do it anytime, anywhere and for free. It's a great way to clear my head and come back feeling refreshed.
