JOSIE ANSWERS Where Did My Favorite Product Go?

Hi Argan Beauties!

My wonderful customer service goddesses, Iesha and Ashley, sat down with me to discuss some of the most popular questions they’ve been getting lately from our beloved customers. The common thread in almost all your questions is: why are my favorite products gone?! I know it can be disappointing when a product that you love is no longer included in our line. Believe me, if anyone understands, it’s me! All of my products are like special friends to me and I hate to see them go. But, in order to make room for new innovation and expansion to our line, we sometimes have to make the tough decision of saying goodbye to older products to make way for new ones! Here are a few of your top concerns about discontinuation, answered front and center!

Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40: Don’t panic! This product isn’t being discontinued permanently. We are reformulating to make it better than ever. My product development team is working hard to make a formula that gives you maximum sun protection while still maintaining the lightest weight texture possible. I’m really excited about this new and improved version. I think you’re really going to love it. We’re still in the process, so I can’t tell you for sure when it’s going to relaunch, but in the meantime, we still have our current formula available in jumbo size on our website.

Argan Blend Concealer: Yes, it’s true. Sadly, this product has been discontinued. But, don’t worry! We discontinued it to make room for our brand new Argan Creamy Concealer Crayons. These are packed with Argan Oil and buckwheat extract, and they blend like a dream. Plus, they’re available in 6 shades so it’s super easy to find the right match. If you love our new Argan Tinted Moisturizer formula, you’re in luck! These concealers were formulated as the partner product to our tinted moisturizer; so if you’re Light 2 in Tinted Moisturizer, you’ll be Light 2 in concealer. Three shades are only available at QVC right now, but the whole range will be popping into Sephora stores and our website in August.

Argan Day & Night Eye Cream: We had to discontinue this little guy to make room for a bunch of new skincare innovation coming in the fall and spring. While you’re waiting for our new launches, I recommend using my Argan Infinity Intensive Creamy Oil as an eye cream. Just use a tiny bit, and gently pat it around your eyes.

Lots of love,

Josie

JOSIE ANSWERS How to Get that Glow

Hi Beauties!

Our lovely customer service goddess, Iesha, told me that we’ve been getting a lot of questions about how to get the perfect healthy glow as we come out of the harsh winter months. So, I thought I’d give you all a little guide on how I love to give my skin that extra oomph!

  1. Start out with a clean hydrated face. When your skin is healthy, you are naturally radiant.
  2. Try a moisturizer with shimmer! My 100% Argan Oil + Radiance, which I created with Ian Somerhalder as part of my Model Citizen Campaign, is the perfect tool for this. The radiance is really subtle, so you don’t have to worry about looking glittery. It just gives your skin this lit-from-within look that I’m obsessed with. Plus ten percent of the sales go to the Ian Somerhalder Foundation Animal Sanctuary! Look out for two more additions to the collection at Sephora—available April 4!
  3. After using foundation or tinted moisturizer, add Argan Illuminizer to the high planes of your face, including your cheekbones, brow bones, down the bridge of your nose and in your cupid’s bow. I like to just use my fingertips to blend it into my skin. A little bit goes a long way!

I hope you all get your glow on this weekend! And remember, nothing makes you more lovely than being happy!

With love,

Josie

P.S. If you want to get a glow all over your body, try my Argan Bronzing Oil, Illuminizing Body Butter, or mix a pump of Argan Illuminizer in with your body butter!

JOSIE ANSWERS What Complexion Products are for Me?

Hi Beauties!

Chicological reader Izzy asked for a guide to using her new Matchmaker Serum and Matchmaker Powder. To answer Izzy’s question, and give all my beauties an easy guide to JMC complexion products, I put together this little cheat sheet—just look for the finish and coverage you prefer for the perfect complexion cocktail.

Sheer to Medium Coverage with a Natural Finish: Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation

My Matchmaker Serum Foundation is lightweight and coverage is at first sheer, but it’s very buildable so it can easily provide medium coverage if you prefer it. I like to apply mine with my fingertips after hydrating lightly with Argan Oil, but you can also use a foundation brush.  The finish is natural—skin looks glowing.

Medium Coverage with a Dewy Finish: Argan Tinted Moisturizer

My Tinted Moisturizer provides a little more coverage than most. It’s very hydrating, so if you’re a naturally hydrated skin type, you can skip Argan Oil underneath. I’m dry, so I apply Argan Oil first and then my Tinted Moisturizer with my fingertips. The finish is dewy—skin looks plump, hydrated, and healthy.

Medium Coverage with a Matte Finish: Argan Matchmaker Powder Foundation

This powder foundation is unlike any other—it has Argan Oil in it, so you don’t have to worry about that cakey look that a lot of other powders cause. It has medium coverage and provides a matte finish, absorbing excess shine. Apply it with one side of the included sponge, blending with the other side for an even finish.

Full Coverage with a Matte Finish: Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation + Argan Matchmaker Powder Foundation

If you love full coverage, try my two Matchmaker products together. Apply the Serum Foundation to clean skin with fingertips, and then finish with a light dusting of the Matchmaker Powder using the included sponge.

Full Coverage with a Natural Finish: Argan Tinted Moisturizer + Argan Matchmaker Powder Foundation

The dewiness of the Tinted Moisturizer combined with the matte finish of the Powder Foundation is a lovely match. Apply Tinted Moisturizer first with your fingers and finish with a light layer of powder.

Voila! Instantly amazing skin that enhances your perfect natural beauty.

Lots of love,

Josie

JOSIE ANSWERS Moisturizers

Somehow I'm sure this won't surprise you:  I'm a sucker for moisturizers. When I started using Argan Oil almost 10 years ago, I realized that moisture was what my skin had been craving for years. Stressed by stripping cleansers, drying makeup, and travel, my skin was majorly unhappy. But as soon as I started giving my skin the moisture it was begging for, my complexion cleared right up.

Hydration and yummy skin benefits are what Argan Oil is all about—that’s why I put it into nearly everything I make, and that's why JMC has so many moisturizing products. I get this question all the time: when do I use which moisturizers? Here’s a guide to using JMC moisturizers to help you keep your skin healthy and hydrated from head to toe.

100% Pure Argan Oil: I put Argan Oil on my face, body, nails, hair, and face every morning and every night. I especially recommend it for your face if you have sensitive skin. Most of us do, actually; we're always "face-out," exposed to the elements, not to mention all the products we use. Since it balances sebum production and soothes inflamed skin, Argan Oil is the perfect facial moisturizer.

Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40: Argan Beauties, you gotta protect yourselves! I know you hear it all the time, but it really is so important to keep your skin safe with SPF. I put on my daily moisturizer with all-natural SPF 40 every morning—I love the sun, but nobody loves sun damage.

Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter: This is the ideal body moisturizer. It’s thick and creamy and loaded with yummy skin soothers like Shea Butter and Aloe Vera not to mention Argan Oil. It's good for all skin types. I put it on post-bath or shower to keep my skin soft.

Argan Balm: This heavy-duty balm is the natural solution for dry or dehydrated skin. I created it especially for rough, dry, or irritated areas, like elbows, knees, and heels. But it also comes in handy in the winter when my face gets raw, and my lips are super chapped. Argan Balm creates a barrier that seals in hydration and prevents damage by the elements.

Argan Oil Moisturizing Stick: This is my travel skin saver; I've always got one in my purse and in my carry-on. The stick form makes it super portable and easy-to-use. It’s really good for the chapped lips and chafing skin that goes along with airplane travel.

I'd love to know: what’s your favorite way to use any or all of my Argan hydrators?

Here's to your great health and great skin!

Love, Josie
