My favorite birthday was a few years ago-my 35th birthday. I was a new mom and had a three week little boy in my arms. I remember being a mess, feeling so tired and run down. I was unaware of "my day" even approaching! My husband remembered, though and I distinctly remember there was a lot of crying on my part when he gave me my birthday card. I remember feeling so incredibly loved and blessed.....

My favorite birthday ever was my 21st birthday. I was working for a local government agency in the same bulding as my dad. I had worked there for 5 years every summer answering telephones. I decided to work on my birthday so I could see both my dad and mom who came to visit at lunch time. Later after work I would be going to the beach. When I got into work that day there were balloons tied to my chair and a few cards which was very nice. At lunch time, the entire office kicked me out and when I came back, everyone including my parents were there to sing to me and wish me happy birthday. To my surprise my beautiful birthday cake had a big picture of me on it...but not just any picture. It was a picture of me from when I was 5 years old that my dad always kept at his desk. It was a very day and I will never forget it. XOXOXO Josie Maran Cosmetics

It was my fourteenth birthday, and I was heading over to my dad's house to celebrate.
He gave me one small gift as we were all sitting around the table eating a wonderful meal.
I cant even remember the gift because it was somewhat impersonal and insignificant.
Just then he said "oh I have something else." He yelled to me from the hall that he couldn't find it and asked me to come into the hall to help lift something. I walked in and parker in front of me was a brand new bike with a red bow on it. A wonderful surprise that ended with laughter and love.

My favorite birthday to me will be each year I get older. To me reaching one more year reflects getting wiser with age and looking back at all the memories the year has taken me throughout my life. Birthdays is all about celebrating your life and being happy that you have reached an extra year of your journey of life. I cherish every year with my wonderful husband, and thank God for his gift to me of providing me with such a wonderful man to cherish my birthdays with.

One of my favorite birthdays was my 14th birthday. My Dad always left the gift giving to my mom but that year he gave me a piece of string to follow from the house and it led to the garage. At the end of the string was a fishing pole with a big red bow on it. He let me know that we would be spending time together fishing. He was so excited :). I have always been very girly and I didn't like fishing but spending time with my dad was so rare that I knew, that our time together was my real gift.

I guess my favorite birthday would be my 50th, two years ago, you know how when you're young you always think 50 is soooo old. When I turned 50 I knew with the products that are out there for skin and knowledge of taking care of myself, that I was NOT old at 50 and still had plenty of life left in me.

My favorite birthday(s) were as a child. Growing up in the country on a farm, all of my friends always anted to come to my house. I'm sure it drove my parents almost insane having 20-25 preteen girls sleeping over! We would stay up until all hours of the night watching horror movies, and then not be able to sleep. Those were some of the best times of my life.

My mom always made my birthday special. My favorite birthday was with her. It wasn't about the gifts or decorations. Her love and presence was all I needed and to hear her call me early in the morning singing happy birthday! I miss her now she's in my heart.

My favorite birthday was 9 years ago when I met my very best friend, Vada, a black 8 week old great Dane puppy. She is old now and very fragile. Still not a single thing I wouldn't do for my girl.... except let her on the furniture :) She was my 22nd birthday present.
I am also a September baby!

My favorite birthday so far would have to be my 23rd. I had been dating my then boyfriend for 8 months. The day prior to, he apologized and said he'd been so busy with work that he hadn't had time to buy me a present. And, he had to close the restaurant that he co-owned, so couldn't be with me on my actual day. Disappointed, but I tried my best to understand and be supportive. Well, the next afternoon, he called and said he managed to swap days with his partner and that he was taking me out to dinner for my birthday. He never told me where, and just said it would be a surprise. After work, and a lot of stalling, we were finally on our way to a restaurant in MD. I was only expecting it to be us, but I was surprised by my extended family, his family, the couple that introduced us and my parents (all the way from NY!). We had dinner, and before dessert, he got down on one knee with ring in hand and asked me to marry him. Here we are, 4 years and 2 kids later, happy as ever.

One of my favorite birthdays would have to be my 16th. I have a twin sister so every year is extra special, But our "sweet sixteen" was the best one ever! Our parents reserved a cool building where we live. (It used to be an old train station), we had a DJ, food and friends. What more could we want! We had such a great time that night our parents really went the extra mile for my sister and I.

My favorite birthday ever was when I turned 33 and was blessed with my twin nieces.
My sister was going to be a scheduled C-section and the doctor informed her that May 8th would be the day. She told the doctor to wait while she cleared it with me. When the call came in she asked if I would care sharing my birthday. I said to her are you kidding me, that would be the best birthday present ever. And now every year it is like being a kid again because no matter what type of party they are having whether Dora or the princesses or anything else there is always a special cake for Aunt TT. They were and will continue to be the best birthday present anyone could ever dream of and and I will forever be blessed because of them.

2008 and every year since. Lost my job of 22-years on 7/30. 8/13 my Daddy, on a once in a life-time fishing trip suffered heart attack in Homer, Alaska. Had to be flown to Anchorage and had a quadruple by-pass. Praise the Lord he is still with us. And because I did not have a job to worry about (a mixed blessing), I was able to go to Alaska with my Mother & stay with her the entiere time Daddy was in the hospital. No, no sight seeing in Alaska but I was thankful for seeing the lovely faces of my parents each day. And so, I celebrate my 56th birthday 9/18, Daddy will celebrate his 78th on 12/14 and my mother will be 76 on 1/27. We enjoyed a fun pizza party last night with my brother. I am abundantly blessed!

My cup runneth over.

My favorite birthday so far was this year. I had a nice dinner (Indian food!) with a friend, followed by a concert seeing my all time favorite songwriter. Why was this one so special? Because I did exactly what I most wanted to do and enjoyed every minute of it, and because it was possible.

My 30th birthday... just an amazing day! I was working on the ambulance, and it was the first birthday I celebrated after my father's death. I just wanted the day over...but my friends and family refused to let me know anything but love! Every time I came back to the station after a call I had a new card, gift or sweet treat waiting for me. At 6pm, dispatch dropped tones for a call, and I ran out into the garage to jump in the ambulance...and found a HUGE party waiting for me! How they snuck that in, I will never know! To top it off, my Mom got her hands on the large Safety Pup costume and dressed up in it... running around taking pictures with everyone and hugging me! I had such an amazing day! My grandmother called late that night to wish me a happy day and asked me what I had done. Before I realized it, I replied: "I stripped grown men naked on the side of the road, ate cake, and chased my mom around asking if she had to go outside to pee!"

On my 35th birthday, when I opened the bedroom door, and I couldn't even see in front of me! Colorful balloons where everywhere! I made my way past the hall and into he living room laughing and calling to my boyfriend. More and more balloons.. And there he was with a couple that was our best friends, proudly standing by the dining table, surrounded with balloons. They had a Happy Birthday banner above, and and on the table awaited a bouquet of field flowers, English Breakfast tea, croissants, French cheese and a fresh fruit bowl.. they started singing Happy Birthday.. i have never forgotten, I will remember it for the rest of my life.

My favorite Birthday is every one I have had since I turned 33, now 41. For whatever reason ever since I was a little girl my wishes for what I wanted to do on my birthday were never granted. This carried on in to my teen and adult years. After being so disappointed and having my birthday be about what everyone else wanted, I began to resent that day. One year I decided that I would disappear and have the day I envisioned. All I ever wanted was to be around close friends/family and enjoy some ice cream (I despise cake and every year that is what my family gave me). When I met my real soul mate, he understood my wishes. Not only did he make sure we went out for ice cream, every year he adds something new to the day that I love - Ice cream after lunch, a dinner that I love followed by a cozy outdoor fire with s'mores! He and I have been together for almost 9 years now. These last eight birthdays have been the best!

My favorite birthday was when I was 5 years old and attending kindergarten. My mom and dad cooked up a huge surprise for me and my entire class.....a clown! It was such a great surprise and everyone was so excited. My dad and 4 year old brother were also able to attend. The clown was most likely only there for an hour or two, but at that age it seemed like he was there all day entertaining us with hilarious stunts, jokes and the best part being balloon animals. Everyone got at least one animal. I remember getting a monkey hugging a tree and my brother got a white rabbit. Unfortunately my brother wasn't holding on to the rabbit well enough and it ended up blowing away in the wind when we were getting in the car to go home. In addition to the balloon animals I also got a book featuring the clown in a story which I still have along with numerous pictures as a memento of that amazing day. I'm so glad that my parents made every birthday a happy day when I was younger so that I have good memories. As the years progressed birthdays became just regular days. And for the past 5 years our family has really struggled and so we've had very little to celebrate.

My favorite birthday was my 34th. the reason being it was the last one I would have with my mom. Though I was blessed to have her for a few more months,I knew that the cancer she had been fighting so couragously, would soon take her from me. We didnot do anything spectacular that day, just her and my dad came by with her homebaked chocolate cake. She had also brought me a baby blanket she had crocheted, and although I didnot have a baby or plans to have one,I placed it on the back of my couch.(3 years later that blanket swaddled my newborn son home from the hospital). I just remember lots of laughter that day,and feeling so loved. My mom and I held each other extra close that day, perhaps we both knew......

My favorite birthday was any birthday as a child. My mother would have us kids choose what we had for dinner that night, followed by birthday cake. Then after dinner she would take us to the local mall and have us pick out what we wanted. I'm 45 now, but back then the spending limit was $25. We could get a new pair of Levi's and a top for that. My mother has passed on, over 12 yrs ago and these memories are special.

For my 52nd birthday my husband arranged a party for me in my native New York, with four of the most important and beautiful women in my life: my mother, my sister, my favorite aunt and best girlfriend of over 30 years! Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, phases and ages! This is one of the reasons I adore Josie and her argon oil line...it isn't just for today, or for tomorrow, but for always! And for all women! Happy 5th Birthday, JMC!!
