JOSIE'S TIPS Margic Marker Lip & Cheek Stain in Mambo

Inevitably, the holidays come and suddenly you find yourself going from must-do to festivity without stopping in between. Well, meet your best friend. Mambo, the burnt orange hue of our Magic Marker Lip and Cheek Stain, gives you a seasonal splash of color on your lips and cheeks and is perfectly portable so you can throw it in your purse for a quick touch up. Here are a few of my tips for this one-stick wonder:

-If you really find yourself sans time to put makeup on in the morning (moms, you know how this goes), take this and rub a bit on your cheeks and lips when you get 5 seconds of peace. A little color goes a long way and will surely make you feel more like you and less ragged-because-it's-the-holidays-and-I-have-20-thousand-things-to-do.

-To bring focus to your lips, skip using it on your cheeks. Line your lips and then fill them in carefully for a stop-and-stare pout that matches the orange leaves around you.

-Not a lip color person? Dab a few dots on the apples of your cheeks with the Magic Marker and blend in with your fingertips. You'll have a fresh, sun-kissed glow that will instantly liven up your face.

JOSIE'S TIPS Fall Argan Eyeshadow Trio Two

As part of our Fall Favorites, we've created our Fall Argan Eyeshadow Trio Two, a color palette of sparkling plum (Chianti), soft shimmery gold (Beach) and a matte pink brown (Oak). These three colors combined create a rich palette that compliments every eye shade. Our inspiration? Not only wines, the harvest and natural autumn tones, but interiors like the ones above that use aubergine to highlight a space and liven up the earth tones of woods, metals and tile.

Here are my tips for using these three hues to make your peepers pop:

-For an all-over, care-free mauve, use your fingers to first blend Oak over your lid followed by a touch of Chianti. Do the same near your lower lash line (like above). The wine color will soften by using both together.

-Add a sparkle to your eye by using Beach to highlight your brow bone and inner corners.

-For a stronger look, start with Oak and blend on top lid. Then take Beach and using a soft eye brush, blend in the inner corner of the top lid to about the middle of the eyelid. Take Chianti and blend along the top line, and into the outer corner of your eyelid to create a smokey purple look.

-For a contrasting pop of color, use Chianti on your bottom lid and Oak on the top (see above).

-Tip: These colors go really well with our Argan Eye Liner in Brown.

GET THE LOOK Giles Spring 2012

When we spotted the Giles Spring 2012 show, we were super excited. A chance to recreate a beauty look using mostly our favorite multi-use products, our Magic Marker Lip & Cheek Stain? Yay! Plus, the hair looks just like Josie wears her hair on down days—natural and beautifully wavy. So, put away your straight iron, skip the heavy eye makeup because this look is all about being color-kissed in an effortless and simple way.

1. Let hair air-dry and while still damp, work in a dime-sized drop of Argan Oil Hair Serum. The point is to let your natural texture and shape shine without worry.

2. Prep face with a drop of Argan Oil followed by a our Argan Tinted Moisturizer. This will leave your face luminescent and bare-looking while still giving you some coverage and sun-protection.

3. Using an Argan Magic Marker Lip and Cheek Stain in the color of your choice, dot the apples of your cheeks. Blend slightly so that you have a pop of color but no blotches.

4. To complete the look, softly use the same Argan Magic Marker on your lips or another color to give a popsicle-stained hue that works with the rich colors of fall focusing on the center of your pout.

JOSIE'S TIPS Argan Color Stick in Rosey

Since we found out that our Argan Color Stick in Rosey just won Allure's Best of Beauty Award 2011 for Natural Wonders (yay!), I thought it would be a perfect time to introduce Josie's Tips, my feature on how to use my products with a dash of color inspiration.

If you're familiar with Argan Oil, you know it comes only from Morocco so we thought to pull a few photos of intricate pink doors found throughout the country. It seems there is endless inspiration in Moroccan architecture and since it's the focus for my holiday collections, I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it. Meanwhile, the look of the Adam Spring 2012 collection was fresh with a hint of pink on the cheeks just like the color of the Rosey Color Stick.

So, here are a few tips for using it:

-While smiling, swipe the Argan Color Stick in Rosey on the cheeks and slightly blend for a fresh-scrubbed look. Keep the rest of your makeup minimal by using a dab of the Argan Lip Treatment and nothing on the eyes but a coat of GOGO Mascara.

-To both soothe your dry spots in the winter months plus add some color, dab the Argan Color Stick on both your lips and cheeks throughout the day.

-For a look that is classic, use the Argan Color Stick in Rosey along the cheekbone and blend, follow with the Magic Marker in Flamenco on your lips and create a winged eyeliner with the Magic Marker Liquid Eyeliner.

-Finally, if I can recommend always carrying one thing besides my 100% Pure Argan Oil To Go, take a Argan Oil Color Stick (in Mini if you have a small purse) with you as your easy go-to color plus moisturizing product. It keeps your beauty routine simple and always keeps you looking fresh. Also, it looks great on everyone!
