GET THE LOOK Iesha Goes Autumn Glam

If you’ve ever given JMC a call, you’ve probably had the great pleasure of speaking to Iesha, our resident product expert and customer service goddess. Not only does she take care of all of you, she also takes care of all of us here at the office—like any good office mom, making sure we’ve washed our dishes and taken a break to watch at least one funny youtube video during our hard work day. Iesha’s been breaking out her big cozy sweaters and her snazzy ankle boots lately, inspiring us to ask her to share her signature autumnal makeup look (using all her fave JMC goodies of course.)

1. Start your look off right by moisturizing with 100% Pure Argan Oil
2. Apply the shadow from R.E.M. Pen in Champagne/Almond to lids
3. Brush the darkest shade from the Beautiful Eyes in Beautiful Nudes palette onto the outer corner of the eyes and blend into crease.
4. Line the lower lashline with Eye Liner in Black
5. Apply two coats of GOGO Instant Natural Volume Mascara  to upper lashes.
6. Finish the look by applying Magic Marker Lip and Cheek Stain in Fox Trot to lips.

GET-THE-LOOK Jenn's Purple Haze

With a shock of purple running through her black hair, and a love of t-shirts with dinosaurs on them that change color in the sunlight, Jenn is one of JMC’s most vibrant characters. (And, as you can imagine, we have no shortage of vibrant types.) As our Manager of Product Development, Jenn's always introducing us to the next big thing in beauty and skincare, leading us toward the latest trends. Here, Jenn schools us in the art of the vibrant eye, featuring her signature shade: purple.

1.     Apply your shade of Argan Tinted Moisturizer to your face to even out your skin tone. (Jenn blends Linen and Desert to make her perfect match.)

2.     Apply Argan Color Stick in Petal Pink to your cheeks and blend toward your temples.

3.     Blend together the two lightest shades in the Argan Beautiful Eyes in Beautiful Purples palette and swipe across each eyelid.  

4.     Using Magic Marker Argan Liquid Liner, line your lower and upper lashlines.

5.    Pack both the light lilac and rich amethyst shades from the Beautiful Purples palette onto your brush.    Apply on top of the liner, smudging out to create a soft effect.

6.     Apply the lightest shade from the Beautiful Purples palette to the inner corner of the eyes to highlight.

7.     Apply two coats of GOGO Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara to your top and bottom lashes.

8.     Finish the look by applying a rich coat of Argan High Gloss Lip Quench, and shine on! 

GET-THE-LOOK Taunia Does Siren Red

Our lovely Product Development Coordinator, Taunia, is always rockin’ some fresh and fab lip looks using different shades of our Magic Marker Lip and Cheek Stain. Yesterday she came in looking all kinds of fierce, and we asked her to recreate her look for us today. Here's a step-by-step guide to getting Taunia’s look, including those siren-red lips.

1.  Apply your shade of Matchmaker Serum Foundation to face to create an even canvas. (Taunia is Light/Medium for reference.)

2.  Using your fingertips, apply Argan Color Stick in Rosey to the apples of the cheeks, blending toward your temples.

3. With an eyeliner brush, swipe the darkest shade from the Argan Beautiful Eyes in Beautiful Nudes palette onto your lower and upper lashlines, creating a soft wing at the outer edge of the eye.

4. Blend the lightest shade in the Beautiful Nudes palette onto the inner corners of your eyes to make you look wide awake.

5.  Apply a rich coat of Magic Marker Lip and Cheek Stain in Flamenco to your lips, using the tip of the marker to line the lips before filling them in. 

GET THE LOOK the no makeup look

If there’s one look that every woman wants to master, it’s the no-makeup look.  Here’s how you can let your beauty shine using your favorite JMC products.

1.   Prep skin for makeup application by cleansing with Argan Cleansing Oil, focusing on areas of dryness, using a soft washcloth to lightly exfoliate flaking skin.

2.   Using your fingers, apply 100% Pure Argan Oil to your face and give it a few minutes to absorb. For extra moisture and to protect skin from harmful rays, apply Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40.

3.   Even out the skin tone by applying your shade of Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation. The sheer coverage will reduce the appearance of redness and blotchiness without masking the natural texture and luminosity of skin. 

4.   Apply Argan Blend Concealer under eyes to camouflage dark circles, on blemishes, and on any other areas of discoloration including eye lids, around the nose, and at the corners of mouth.

5.   Smoothe a creamy blush like Argan Color Stick in Rosey onto the apples of cheeks, and lightly blend toward the temples.

6.   Brush GOGO Instant Natural Volume Mascara onto upper eyelashes only.

7.   Complete the look by applying Argan Lip Treatment to moisturize lips.

 

GET THE LOOK Christian Dior Spring 2012

Sometimes we crave a little bit of drama on the eyes, but we still want to look natural and glowing. Christian Dior pulled this look off perfectly on their Spring 2012 Couture runway. We love how the eyes are both light and dark—the strong sweep of the liquid liner paired with the ethereal, shimmery shadow is right up our alley. Keeping the rest of the face clean and fresh makes this the perfect look for day or night. Here's how to get the look using our favorite products!

1. After cleansing and moisturizing with Argan Cleansing Oil and 100% Pure Argan Oil, apply your shade of Tinted Moisturizer. To sheer out the coverage and give skin a super dewy look, apply Tinted Moisturizer with a damp sponge. Apply your shade of Argan Blend Concealer under eyes and on areas of redness or discoloration. 

2. Sweep the lightest shade from the Argan Beautiful Eyes in Beautiful Nudes all over lid. Using Magic Marker Argan Liquid Eye Liner, tightly line the upper lashline, sweeping up at the edge of the eye to create a cat eye effect. (Hint: draw an imaginary line from the outer corner of your eye to the outer tip of your eyebrow to create the perfect angle for your eye liner swoosh) Finish the look with two coats of GOGO Instant Natural Volume Mascara on the upper lashes. 

3. Apply Magic Marker Lip & Cheek Stain in Cha Cha to cheeks and blend to create a very subtle pink cheek. Follow by blending Argan Illuminizer onto cheekbones, down the bridge of nose, and into the cupid's bow for a luminous glow.

4. Dab Magic Marker Lip & Cheek Stain in Cha Cha onto the lips and press together to create a natural look. Follow with a light coat of Argan Natural Volume Lip Gloss in Optimism. 

GET THE LOOK: (Eco) Oscars 2012

On the most glamorous eve in Hollywood, we noticed that the beauty looks were fresh with only the slightest splash of color (except for Angelina's striking red lips, of course). In true let-your-natural-beauty-shine-through style, our favorite eco-celebs proved that less is more and that it's all about highlighting your best features. To replicate this, we thought we'd round up their beauty looks and make them simple so that you can achieve them yourself.

To start, make sure your skin is cleansed (Argan Cleansing Oil), nourished (100% Pure Argan Oil), and protected (Daily Moisturizer with SPF 40+). GET THE LOOK Valentine's Day 2012

Happy Love Day! Whether you're celebrating with a night out this evening or simply staying in to cozy up with your sweetie, it's always fun to get a little dolled up in the spirit of this fabulous day of pinks and reds. But no need to go overboard! We pulled four looks that will inspire you to highlight your features while still looking elegant and sweet, then we made them eco and added our spin. We're confident you'll look amazing!

Prime Face: After washing your face with Argan Cleansing Oil, moisturize with our Daily Moisturizer with SPF 40+, followed by the Argan Primer Mist. Once absorbed, finish with Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation for a flawless canvas.

1. Mauve: To get this look, lightly dab our Argan Cream Blush in Sunset on the outer apples of the cheeks.  Then, cover the lid in Argan REM Pen Eyeshadow in Dusty Rose, followed by Argan Eye Shadow in Maple in the crease of the eye to highlight the depth of your lid . GET THE LOOK Christian Dior Spring 2012

The soft hues of winter sometimes need a pop of punch to avoid being too mellow. Christian Dior took complementary shades of pale pinks and barely-there peach and combined it with vivid lips for a look that is both feminine and fun. We thought we'd replicate it so that you can stand out and be eco-chic at the same time. . . plus, this looks great with a face framing hat in the cold months and takes you right into wearing dresses in the warmth of spring.

1. Cleanse skin with the Argan Cleansing Oil followed by Argan Oil Daily Moisturizer with SPF 40+. Give your skin a few minutes to soak up the moisturizer and then even out skin tone with Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation.

2. Using Argan Magic Brows Brow Marker + Brow Powder Duo, fill in eyebrows. Set with a small dab of Argan Balm for a polished face.

GET THE LOOK Jil Sander Fall 2011

This striking look is even more vibrant and colorful than last week's Get the Look. . .and perfect for the bold girl's holiday festivities! Sure, it takes a little sass to wear both a bright red and a zing of aquamarine, but as opposites, these two colors go together well and will complement your LBD (that's little black dress, if you didn't know). But remember, keep your face the focal point by refraining from large earrings (small ones work) and perhaps adding a vintage bracelet if you wish.

1. Turn your face into a clean palette with our Argan Bear Naked Wipes followed by a touch of our Argan Tinted Moisturizer, finishing with our Argan Pressed Powder in Natural.

2. Using a small eyeshadow brush, line the top of your eyelids carefully with our Argan Eye Shadow in Bali.

Nina Ricci kept lips bold and eyes soft for her Fall 2011 show and we felt like it was a perfect look to get you from work straight to that seasonal soiree in a few easy steps.
